As a self-employed carpenter/painter. I have used Morse Hardware for decades, both the old one and the most recent one. The staff, both family and other employees are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and willing to listen to your needs. The prices are good and the stock is plentiful. A great place to do business.

Visiting from out of town and needed to do some RV repairs. Went into this store with my son and they fixed us up real nice. Have us the screws we needed and even recommended a bit driver that would prevent us from stripping them. $5 later and the repair is complete. A+. Thanks guys.

A truely old-fashioned hardware store plus lumber yard. Run by a family and crew of friendly Mainers. If they don't have it, they'll order it for you. Slightly more expensive than the big box stores or the small franchise chains. The positive attitude, friendliness and deeper expertise are well worth paying a little exta for. Locally owned and operated. THINK GLOBAL, BUY LOCAL. They can get you that sustainably harvested exotic tropical hardwood for your deck, but you'll be supporting a small, local business and keeping most of your money in the local economy.
